Rules & Regs

Cary Scavenger Hunt Rules (Adult Teams)

  1. Must be a minimum age of 18.
  2. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license, which will be in the drivers’ possession throughout the Hunt.
  3. Must have automobile insurance.
  4. Acquisition of items.  All items and answers on the list can be found and obtained legally.  The Judges take no responsibility for your getting thrown in the clink, be it the local clink, state clink, or federal clink.  If you end up there it is your own fault.
  5. Team participation.  All team members must stay together as a team and ride in one car.
  6. Team members should be wearing Cary Scavenger Hunt T-shirts during the Hunt so they can be identified as Hunt participants.
  7. Fair play. Sabotage is bad.  We don’t like it and we don’t want it in the Hunt.  Any sabotaging teams or their items can lead to immediate disqualification.
  8. Points.  Point totals are final.  If there is a tie, a tie-breaker will take place between teams with the same score at the end of the Hunt and observed by the Judges.
  9. All teams must have a digital camera or cell phone camera for retrieving a visual record of many items on the list.
  10. Scavenger Hunt photos.  All photos MUST include all members on the team, unless one member is taking the photo.
  11. Any photos taken during the Hunt may be used for promotional material.
  12. All decisions by the Judges are final.
